Student Volunteers Needed for a Successful Safe Halloween

Help make Safe Halloween a treat for Decatur Township; Volunteer!

There are great things happening in Decatur Township schools, and they do not happen by accident. Many of our staff and students work hard to create fun and educational experiences for us all.  One such event is Safe Halloween, which will be October 30 and this even is always well attended by many families in the district.  The Decatur Central HS Student Council, lead by Mrs. Tate, does a wonderful job organizing and decorating for the event.  One aspect that makes the event so successful (and popular) is the number of volunteers who step up to help. Student volunteers are key to making this event great.  Additionally, candy donations are needed as funding is limited, naturally.  How can you help?  Donate candy, and if possible, your time.  Currently there is a candy competition happening between the College and Career Readiness (CCR) classes.  The CCR class that donates the most candy will receive a doughnut party. All of the candy collected will be used for Safe Halloween.  Any donated unopened (sealed) bags of candy are deeply appreciated.

Decatur Central students are encouraged to volunteer to decorate and pass out candy to our "littles".  Our school community is what makes us a great place to learn and grow - be a part of something fun and make a difference in a child's life. Volunteer to help with Safe Halloween.  See Mrs. Tate in EDGE 300 for details and to commit.  The hours students donate will go toward any required community service. Win/Win!

Together, we can make a difference!
