The resolution to appoint Dr. Hofer was approved by a unanimous vote on Tuesday, November 14th, during the regularly scheduled school board meeting. Dr. Hofer brings over 19 years of experience in Decatur Township, serving in a variety of roles, including teacher, instructional coach, assistant principal, and principal. While Dr. Hofer assumes leadership of the district, the school board is utilizing the university search team to aid in the permanent superintendent search process. This group of professors from Ball State, Indiana State, Indiana and Purdue Universities will collect and analyze community survey data and facilitate the application and interview process. The school board is committed to gaining staff and community input through the survey, while conducting a thorough process. “We look forward to reviewing and interviewing candidates to find the best superintendent to lead Decatur Township Schools,” said Judith Collins of the school board.
