DC Best Buddies Hosts a Silent Night Prom Event

The Silent Night Prom is an event that will be hosted by Decatur Central Best Buddies on Saturday, May 18th from 7-10 pm. With the fundraising dollars the Chapter has acquired throughout the year, wireless headphones have been rented. Music will be streamed to every pair. Guests will receive their headphones at the door, and can adjust to their personal volume, essentially making the event completely quiet to those without headphones. This event is to create a sensory-friendly environment that everyone can enjoy- especially for individuals that choose not to go to the DCHS annual Prom for sensory reasons. To help with the cost of renting headphones, attendees can purchase tickets for $10 during school from Mr. Miller (Q&I office), Mr. Tate (by the gym), and Mrs. Tate (300 Edge Hallway). A limited number of tickets will be sold at the door. 

The event will take place in the small gym at the high school. Guests should enter through door 23. Individuals who would like to have their hair and/or makeup done can arrive at door 23 at 5:00 to get that done prior to the event. This event is meant to be accessible for everyone, so if any individual wants to attend the event but needs help with purchasing tickets, simply email emmagracehart@gmail.com or text 317-900-0188, and we will get you a ticket, no questions asked. This event is open to anyone in the Decatur Township community, and guests from outside the district can attend, too, just ask Chapter leadership (text Chapter President Emma Hart at 317-900-0188) and we will get the appropriate forms to you.
