Hello, Stephen Decatur Families and Community Members!

Welcome to a new school year at Stephen Decatur Elementary! I’m excited for the opportunities this year holds and look forward to partnering with you to support the growth and success of every student.

My name is Chris Low, and I am honored to serve as the Assistant Principal here. As I begin my third year in this role, I remain incredibly proud to be part of a school community that is deeply student-focused, family-oriented, and committed to building strong, positive relationships.

At Stephen Decatur, we are dedicated to creating a learning environment where every student feels seen, supported, and challenged. Our school thrives because of the strong relationships we build with students, families, and each other—and I’m #DecaturProud to be part of a team that is so deeply committed to student success.

We believe that all students can develop and sustain an academic mindset when they are surrounded by a caring, inclusive community. That belief drives everything we do—from how we design instruction to how we build culture within our classrooms and across our building.

As educators, we have the responsibility to lead with purpose and compassion. I’m committed to supporting our staff through meaningful professional development, collaborative growth, and a shared focus on student well-being. Together, we work to maintain a safe, engaging, and positive climate where both students and adults are empowered to learn, reflect, and grow.
