Balancing school and a sport can be tough, but Karli Ricketts, Justine Estes, and Hannah Cravens have proven they can handle the challenge. The dedication, hard work, and leadership of these three student-athletes earned them the opportunity to not only compete in Division I softball, but study at respectable universities. Our district looks forward to seeing what more they will accomplish on and off the field!

Karli Ricketts

Pitcher/Short Stop

Butler University

Accolades: Ricketts has earned All-Marion County and All-Conference, and a nomination for Softball Athlete of the Year.

Quote from DC head coach Don Ivey:

“Karli is like a storybook legend and leader on our softball team. Her teammates look to her to pitch the big game or get the big hit, and she never lets that get in her head. Instead, she comes to practice and competes in drills as she does in games.”

Justine Estes

Center Field

Ball State University

Accolades: Estes earned All-Conference and All-County twice, received the Academic Award three years, and served as a team captain for three years.

Quote from DC head coach Don Ivey:

“Justine has been our vocal leader since her sophomore year. She works hard in the weight room and at practice, as well as helps others push themselves to greatness. She is kind of our momma bear of our captains – she’s a born leader!”

Hannah Cravens

Short Stop

Eastern Illinois University

Accolades: Cravens is a three-time All-Conference and two-time All-County recipient and has served as a team captain for three years.

Quote from DC head coach Don Ivey:

“Hannah has grown into the idea team leader and captain during the offseason. Among other great players and captains on this team she went above and beyond to make this year's team hers with outstanding work ethic and leadership!
