The Goodwin Community Center is host to a group of leather craftsmen & women who are called "The Gathering." This is not a club, but individuals, couples and families who share an interest in working with leather. Projects of interest vary from wallets, purses, belts and leather cases to clothing. Classes will include instruction and completion, with items for competition at local, state and international levels. Several regular attendees are award-winning leather workers. The class is open to experienced leather workers with personal projects as well as beginners interested in learning. Instruction includes selection of leathers, pattern making, carving, tooling, stitching, lacing and assembly. Fellowship is also always a part of the Tuesday evening activities.
