Message from Mr. Allen Director of the Global Small Learning Community.

Professional Experience

I am very excited to begin the 2018-2019 school year in the Global Small Learning Community! This year will mark my 9th year in education for me. I taught Honors United States History and coached basketball as a  at Mooresville High School from 2009-2013. In 2014 I became the Assistant Principal for Student Services at Mooresville High School and was in that position for two years before coming to MSD of Decatur Township and Decatur Middle School. In July of 2016 I became the Director of the Imagine Small Learning Community and served in that position before transitioning into the Global Small Learning Community this school year.  I am excited to begin the next chapter of my professional career as director for Global and consider myself lucky to work alongside with such creative, dedicated educators.

I received my Bachelor of Science in Education from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. While still teaching and coaching basketball I pursued my Master's of Arts in Education from Ball State University specializing in K-12 Public School Administration. I love what I do and consider myself very lucky to get to learn and go to school everyday! As an administrator it my mission everyday to ensure ALL students at Decatur Middle School receive the highest quality instruction daily while being surrounded with positive, caring adults who make an impact on the students they serve.

I love to spend time with my family. I am very blessed to have a wonderful wife Tracie and two little boys that keeps us very busy! Cole 7, and Graham 6 are very active and play football, basketball and baseball. I love to play golf and watch sports when I am not at one of my son's games or practices.
