Message from Director

Welcome to the School of Quest and Inquiry. Our commitment in Q and I is to provide a safe and intellectually challenging environment that will empower students to become self-directed learners, innovative thinkers and creative problem solvers prepared to thrive in the twenty-first century.

In Q and I we support our students’ educational journeys by fostering their development of “growth mindsets.” Rather than believing that talent or intelligence is fixed, we believe that regardless of their backgrounds, students can grow their talents and intelligence. All students can develop skills like perseverance, resourcefulness, responsibility, and empathy - qualities that matter wherever their personal journeys take them. We ultimately desire for students to develop into quality people who create meaningful lives for themselves and make a difference in the lives of others.

The Q and I staff, through the use of interactive technology, facilitates learning for students to become self-directed learners who produce quality work. We encourage high engagement and collaboration as well as risk taking all while holding students responsible for their actions.

In acting upon our commitment to serve all students, Q and I staff members work together to care for each student as well as align our curriculum and assessments to district and state frameworks. In tandem with our academic programs, we deliberately take steps to include students in creating a positive school community. Each individual student makes a difference in shaping a healthy learning environment - in classes, the halls, the lunch room, and on the bus. We aspire for all students to feel important and to recognize that they influence what happens to and what goes on around them each day. GO HAWKS!

If I can be of any assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me and know that my door is always open. I am honored to serve as the director of the School of Quest and Inquiry.
