DTSE Presents: The Pig Whisperer, Nov. 20 and 21

DTSE Presents: The Pig Whisperer, Nov. 20 and 21

On Friday, November 20th, the Decatur Township School for Excellence sophomores, with a little help from some upperclassmen,  will take the stage for the first time in an original play written by Betsy Carpenter-Wilson, The Pig Whisperer. Based on the true story of Russ Kremmer, a pig farmer who almost lost his life after sustaining a wound from one of his boars. The play portrays how what used to be a simple life on the farm turned into a dangerous practice to save time and money at the expense of the animals and human wellbeing.

The Pig Whisperer cast is led by Jasmine Wilson, who plays Amy Parker the adapted version of Russ, and Jake Reynolds, the father of Amy, John Parker. You will not only be entertained by the original script and cast but by the re-mastered version of famous songs performed live. The Pig Whisperer first performs November 20th at 7:00 p.m. and again on Saturday the 21st at 7:00 p.m. Don’t miss out on the chance to witness history while also being entertained and informed on real world issues.
