MSD DECATUR OPENS NEW COMMUNITY ROOM AT THE DECATUR TOWNSHP SCHOOL FOR EXCELLENCE

Tuesday, March 14- The MSD of Decatur Township officially opened their new community room with a ribbon cutting ceremony during the meeting of the Board of Education. The Community Room is located on the second floor of the Decatur Township School for Excellence. It is equipped with WiFi, projectors, monitors, and a catering kitchen; and is accessible via stairs and elevator.

The community room at the Decatur Township School for Excellence will be available for school and communities groups to host events and meetings. “We are proud to offer this community room as a resource to our staff, students, families and the groups who support our schools. Many of our strongest advocates attended classes in the building as Decatur Central, or the Junior High. We are happy to welcome them back to this building as engaged community members,” said Dr. Matt Prusiecki, Superintendent of Decatur Township Schools.

The Decatur Township School for Excellence is housed in the original Decatur Central High School building, which was later used as Decatur Junior High School. This historical building has been renovated over the last few years to preserve its historic façade while providing first-class amenities to its students and the community.
