Decatur Township's Lisa Wicks Recognized as Ocupational Therapist of the Year

The Occupational Therapist of the Year Award is the highest honor the Indiana Occupational Therapy Association gives to an Occupational Therapist.  Nominations are accepted each year, however an award is not bestowed yearly.  The OT chosen must have statewide and national association involvement, specialty training or certifications and made significant contributions to the field of occupational therapy, as well as service to the community and consumers of occupational therapy services.  The award was presented at the IOTA Annual Meeting held at the IUPUI Campus.

The award was given by Indiana Occupational Therapy Association, or IOTA, founded in 1926.  IOTA is a professional association that represents Indiana’s 6,000 occupational therapy practitioners and students.  

Wicks began working in Decatur Township as an occupational therapist in 2005.  Currently serving as an Occupational Therapist and Assistive Technology Coordinator.

 

Wicks is the mother of 5 Children who attend Decatur Township Schools.
