• A Community Preschool Interest Form will be available on the Liberty Preschool/Lynwood Elementary website on Monday, March 2, 2026 (7:00 a.m.) and will close when spaces are filled.
• Full Day Community Preschool and Half Day Community Preschool options will be offered.
• Liberty Preschool is located at Lynwood Elementary, and is open to any Decatur Township families with children who meet the criteria (until positions are filled).
• Students must be 3 years old by August 1st, 2026, and fully toilet trained.
• Enrollment decisions will be made based on met criteria and time of submission.
• Enrollment confirmation or waitlist emails will be sent out starting 4/1/2026. This email will include program times, cost, registration information, and additional needed paperwork.

Immunization Requirements

 

As we begin planning for the 2026–2027 school year, this is an important reminder to make sure your student’s immunizations are up-to-date before school starts. Indiana state law requires proof of immunizations or a signed exemption form to be on file for school enrollment to any grade level.

Please note that students entering 6th grade and 12th grade have additional immunization requirements:

Incoming 6th Grade Students

• Tdap
• Meningococcal (MCV4)

Incoming 12th Grade Students

• Second dose of Meningococcal (MCV4)

We encourage families to schedule vaccine appointments early with your healthcare provider, local clinic, or pharmacy to avoid the back-to-school rush.

Starting with the 2026–2027 school year, students and families may choose to use either a standard or clear backpack. This decision reflects the reduced availability of clear backpacks over the past year, along with the implementation of additional safety measures to help maintain a safe and secure learning environment for all students and staff.

We are pleased to inform the community that MSD of Decatur Township will be implementing the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) for meals served on the National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program for the 2026-2027 school year.

All students enrolled at MSD of Decatur Township Schools are eligible to receive a healthy breakfast and lunch at school at no charge each day of the 2026-2027 school year. No further action is required of families. Students will be able to participate in these meal programs without having to pay a fee or submit an application.

The Child Nutrition Department will continue the Ala Carte Program. This means students may purchase smart snack compliant items with cash or funds loaded to meal accounts. For more information on meal accounts, register for an account with Linq Connect here.

 

Transportation Information

Transportation information including bus stop location and pick-up/drop-off times will be available in the Stopfinder app on July 27th. For Stopfinder information, visit the Transportation Webpage linked here. For students new to Decatur Township, please look for an email invitation for Stopfinder in the primary guardian's email account on July 24th. Students must be registered by 7/29/26 to be assured bus transportation for the 1st day of school.

Note: Due to the statewide Skyward disruption, the bus information listed in Skyward is currently not accurate for the new year. Stopfinder is the best source for bus information! We will send an update once the Skyward system is accurate for transportation.
