Decatur Township Superintendent Announces Retirement

(September 6, 2023) At the School Board Meeting on September 5, 2023, Dr. Matt Prusiecki, Superintendent of the MSD of Decatur Township, announced his intent to retire as of February 1, 2024. Out of his 31 years of public service, Dr. Prusiecki has served in Decatur Township for 21 years, 11 of those years as the district leader. “I have been honored and blessed to be able to serve the school community of Decatur Township and positively impact the lives of many students, staff and families. I plan to retire, always being Decatur Proud,” shared Dr. Prusiecki.

School Board Members approved Dr. Prusiecki’s retirement and offered their thanks for his service and well wishes for the future. An executive session for the school board is now scheduled for September 26th to determine next steps in selecting a new Superintendent. Congratulations to Dr. Prusiecki and best wishes upon your retirement in February, 2024!
