HEALTH AND WELLNESS SPOTLIGHT

DIRECTOR BRAD ROSE AIMS TO IMPROVE DISTRICT’S HEALTH

DIRECTOR BRAD ROSE AIMS

As the new Health and Wellness Director of MSD of Decatur Township, Bradley Rose is beginning to lay the foundation for a mentally, physically and emotionally healthier community for students of all ages. Rose’s extensive background in health and wellness coupled with his varying degrees have equipped him with the professional working experiences that not only focus on the physical aspects of health and wellness, but the mental aspect as well. He’s gained valuable experience coaching football and varsity track and field and has years of educational training through a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology with a minor in health and safety and a master’s degree in Special Education.

Starting off the school year, Rose has been collaborating with the school district’s staff and stakeholders to create and implement active wellness programs among students in grades third through eighth. The active wellness programs will reflect his personal philosophy of creating healthy lifestyle habits that lead to improved overall physical, mental and emotional wellness. Rose’s main goal is to have students take his wellness lessons home with them. He hopes that what students learn about making healthy choices in school will carry over into their homes where they can then educate their families and further their own efforts of maintaining a happy, healthy lifestyle.

We welcome Mr. Rose into the Decatur Proud community and are looking forward to highlighting his health and wellness successes.
