DMS and DTSE are Featured as IDOE Promising Practices!

Decatur Middle School and the Decatur Township School for Excellence have been recognized by the Indiana Department of Education as a schools of Promising Practice in the area of data-driven decision making and student-centered programs (respectively). Our Promising Practices are two of 200 education or wrap-around service programs to be recognized by the Department in honor of Indiana’s bicentennial celebration.

"We are proud, Decatur Proud, to make this list of 200 promising practices. Both Decatur Middle School and the Decatur Township School for Excellence have undergone changes in the last few school years. We know that we are changing for the better, and it is exciting to be recognized on a State level for the positive work these schools are doing. I would invite any community member to come visit these schools to see these promising practices in action." - said Dr. Prusiecki, Superintendent of Decatur Township Schools.

IDOE Promising Practices are student-centered and focus on positively impacting students through innovative programming and activities that provide a high-quality learning environment and experience. The DMS and DTSE Promising Practices will be shared with educators across the state of Indiana as an example of best practices that are having a positive impact on Hoosier students.
