MSD Decatur Township Implements myON® to Provide over 6000 ebook Choices for Students
MSD Decatur Township has implemented the myON® program for all K-8 students. This web-based program offers each student over 6000 ebooks. Students access the books through their school-issued iPad and can download books to their device.
Students use the books for pleasure reading and for teacher-assigned reading. Exciting features of the product include the ability to choose books by student interests or reading levels. In addition, all books have a “read to me” feature that reads the books to the student in a pleasant recorded (not robotic) voice.
Teachers can monitor student progress through the app and see what students are reading, and how long they are reading. Teachers can assign any book to individual students, groups of students, or the whole class.
Decatur Township continues to provide library media centers with traditional books for all students. myON® provides another avenue to literacy for our students.
